Managed Hosting
Your website is only as reliable as the platform underneath it. We host every site we build on WP Engine — and we will tell you exactly why.
Cheap hosting is cheap for a reason. Shared servers packed with hundreds of unrelated sites, no caching worth the name, security handled by whatever plugin you happened to install, and a support desk that has never opened WordPress. It works right up until the moment it does not — usually during a traffic spike, a plugin conflict, or a Monday morning.
WolfPaw Digital builds on WP Engine and manages the whole environment for you: setup, migration, updates, monitoring, backups, and the troubleshooting when something needs a human. You get enterprise-grade infrastructure without needing to become a systems administrator.
WPEngine Managed vs. Standard Shared Hosting
| Typical shared hosting | WP Engine managed hosting | |
|---|---|---|
| Server tuning | Generic stack shared with hundreds of unrelated site | Containerized environment tuned only for WordPress |
| Caching | A plugin you install and configure yourself | EverCache® built into the platform |
| Updates | Your responsibility, or nobody’s | Automated WordPress and PHP updates |
| Security | Add-on plugins, variable results | Managed WAF, DDoS protection,SOC 2 and ISO 27001 audited |
| Staging | Manual, or not offered | One-click staging and development environments |
| Support | General agents reading from a script | 24/7/365 WordPress specialists |
| When it breaks | You find out from a customer | Daily backups and one-click restore points |
What WolfPaw Digital Handles
WP Engine provides the platform. We provide the management — because a great platform still needs someone paying attention to your specific site.
- Migration - We move your existing site over with no downtime and no lost content. If you are midcontract elsewhere, we plan the transition around your renewal date.
- Environment setup - SSL, CDN configuration, correct data center selection, caching rules, redirects, and DNS handled properly the first time.
- Plugin and theme updates - Tested on staging before they go live, on a regular schedule — not whenever someone remembers.
- Performance monitoring - Page speed, Core Web Vitals, and uptime watched continuously, with issues addressed before you notice them.
- Backup verification - Automated backups are only useful if they restore. We check.
- Troubleshooting - Broken layouts, plugin conflicts, PHP errors, white screens. You send one message and it gets fixed
- One Point of Contact - . You never open a support ticket with a hosting company. You email us.
Who Is This For?
Managed hosting is worth it when your website is doing real work — generating leads, taking orders, representing a brand people are deciding whether to trust. It is a good fit if:
- Slow Websites - Your site is slow, and you have run out of plugins to try
- Compromised Websites - You have been hacked, or you are one outdated plugin away from it
- Hands Free Maintenance - Nobody at your company is responsible for updates, and everyone assumes someone else is - Tested on staging before they go live, on a regular schedule — not whenever someone remembers.
- Stable Performance - Downtime costs you money or credibility
- No Hitch WooCommerce - You run WooCommerce and cannot afford a checkout outage
- One Connection - You are tired of being handed between a host, a developer, and a plugin vendor who each blame the other.
FAQ's
Is WP Engine more expensive than shared hosting?
Yes, and that is the point. Shared hosting is priced for sites where downtime does not matter. Once you factor in the plugins you would otherwise buy for caching, security, and backups — plus the cost of an hour of downtime during business hours — the gap narrows considerably.
Do I buy hosting from you or from WP Engine?
Either works. We can host your site under our account and bill you as part of a maintenance plan, or set it up under your own WP Engine account so you retain full ownership. We will walk you through the trade-offs.
Will migrating my site cause downtime?
No. We build the site on WP Engine, test it fully on a temporary domain, then switch DNS. Visitors see the old site until the moment they see the new one.
What if I want to leave later?
It is your site and your content. We hand over a full export and the credentials, with no lock-in and no exit fee.
Does WP Engine work with WooCommerce?
Yes. WP Engine offers an e-commerce performance add-on built specifically for WooCommerce stores, with optimizations for cart and checkout performance that standard hosting does not provide.
Do you offer maintenance without hosting?
We do — monthly WordPress maintenance plans are available for sites hosted elsewhere. That said, the results are better when we control the environment.
