WordPress Troubleshooting & Maintenance
WolfPaw Digital builds WordPress websites for businesses in Mooresville, Lake Norman, Troutman, Statesville, and the surrounding Iredell County area.
Websites rarely break at a convenient time. They break on a Friday afternoon, during a promotion, or the week you finally started getting traffic. Whether something is broken right now or you would rather it never broke in the first place, WolfPaw Digital handles both — emergency troubleshooting when a site goes down, and monthly maintenance that stops most emergencies from happening at all.

Two Reasons People Call Us
Troubleshooting: What We Fix
Types of Problems We Fix
---
Blank white screen with or without message.
Site suddenly slow
Layout broke after an update
Redirecting to a spam site
"Not secure" in the browser
Locked out of wp-admin
Contact form stopped sending
500 or 502 Server error
Google warning visitors away
If your problem is not on this list, it is still very likely something we have seen. Send us the symptom and we will tell you what it usually means.
How emergency work runs
We start with a full backup — before touching anything — so the situation cannot get worse. Then we diagnose against the error logs rather than guessing, fix the cause rather than the symptom, and tell you in plain language what happened and how to prevent a repeat. If the underlying issue is a plugin that has been abandoned by its developer or a theme that will keep causing problems, we will say so instead of patching it and waiting for your next call.
Monthly Maintenance - Whats Included
Maintenance is the behind the scenes work that keeps a site out of trouble. It is also the cheapest insurance available for a business asset you depend on.
Below you will find our maintenance plan benefits. We also provide a monthly summary — what was updated, what was found, what was fixed. Written for a business owner, not a developer. Plans are monthly, and they exist for sites we built as well as sites we did not.
Core, plugin, and theme updates
Applied on a staging copy first, checked, then pushed live. This one practice prevents the majority of “the site broke after an update” calls.
Security monitoring and hardening
Malware scanning, login protection, file permission checks, and prompt patching of known vulnerabilities. Outdated plugins are the most common way WordPress sites get compromised.
Verified backups
Automated, off-site, and periodically test-restored. A backup nobody has ever restored is a hope, not a backup.
Uptime monitoring
So we find out the site is down before your customers tell you
Broken Link & Error Scans
404s, broken forms, and console errors caught before they cost you a lead.
Small content edits
The text changes, image swaps, and hour updates that are too small to be a project but never seem to get done.
FAQ's
My site is down right now. How fast can you help?
Email us with your URL and what you are seeing. Urgent issues get triaged first, and most common failures are resolved the same business day once we have access.
Do you work on sites you did not build?
Yes — most of our maintenance clients came to us with an existing site, often one whose original developer is no longer reachable. Inheriting other people’s code is routine.
What do you need from me to start?
WordPress admin access and hosting access. If you have lost either, we can usually help recover them — that is a common first task.
Does maintenance include hosting?
WordPress admin access and hosting access. If you have lost either, we can usually help recover them — that is a common first task.
Does maintenance include hosting?
They are separate but work well together. Sites we host on WP Engine come with staging environments, daily backups, and platform-level security already in place, which makes maintenance more effective and usually cheaper.
What if my site has been hacked?
Tell us immediately. Cleanup involves removing the malicious code, finding and closing the entry point, checking for backdoors left behind, and requesting review if Google has flagged the site. Speed matters — the longer it sits, the more damage to your search visibility.
Get It Working and Keep It That Way
Send us your URL and what is going wrong. If it is urgent we will treat it that way. If it is not urgent yet, we will tell you honestly what shape your site is in and what it would take to keep it healthy.
